Episode 71: BattleBowl 1993

February 13, 2018

Oh no. It's an entire PPV devoted to BattleBowl. Well lets get this over with...

After 2 years of being incorporated with Starrcade, WCW have made the decision to give the Lethal Lottery and BattleBowl idea it's own Pay-Per-View, adding an extra one to their calender. Will it pay off?

We talk about all the tag matches, Gene Okerlund being a pervert and do our live commentary on the Battle Royale.

Elsewhere, Thom talks about watching 6 Jean-Claude Van Damme films in a row, and another event in his big Mania holiday.

Episode 70: Clash of the Champions XXV

January 27, 2018

It's the 25th instalment of Clash of the Champions and every title in WCW is on the line...and Mean Gene has even shown up!

We are back already with another episode as the road to Starrcade (that's not really a thing) continues. Ric Flair battles Vader for the WCW title in a match which definitely doesn't contain any hijinks whatsoever!

Thom tells the Sid and Arn scissors incident story and how it all affects the storylines for the rest of 1993.

We also take a look at what has been going on TV, and of course run through the entire Clash card.

Thom also talks about his weekend at the Pro Wrestling EVE January show and at the London Lucha League.

In the world of 1993 WCW, we are up to Halloween Havoc and we have a Rude-Flair rematch, Sting vs. Sid and a Texas Death Match between Cactus Jack and Vader...what will we think of all that?

We also have the greatest (to date) show intro ever, courtesy of a very creepy Tony Schiavone!

Bonus Episode: The Mega Show

September 14, 2017

It's a bonus episode as 3 podcasts collide to talk about the 3 things we have in common!

We combine 80's Picturehouse, Asiamania and Superbrawls to chat to the visiting Ben Wyatte who has come all the way from Tasmania to visit the UK!

We talk about the Norwich leg of his visit to the country, then whack on New Japan World and watch some matches from the 80's (covering 80's Picturehouse, Asiamania and Superbrawls, see?)

We'll return with our Fall Brawl episode in a couple of weeks, but for now enjoy...and don't whine because its not canon!

Episode 64: Slamboree 1993

June 11, 2017

Well. That took a while. But we are finally back with a new episode and what better way to return than to take a look back at our favourite old boys who return for Slamboree 1993...The Legends Reunion!

Yes, Chris is finally reunited with his bae Wahoo McDaniel, and we see the likes of Nick Bockwinkel, Dory Funk Jr., Thunderbolt Patterson, Don Muraco and Dick Murdoch actually wrestle. It's every but as rancid as it sounds.

Elsewhere on the show, Davey Boy Smith locates Big Van Vader behind some pigeons and challenges for the WCW title, Arn and Barry collide for the NWA title, a big name returns to annihilate Van Hammer and a new member of the Four Horsemen debuts. Yeah it's THAT one. Urgh.

We also talk about what we've been up to! WWE in Norwich, Pro Wrestling Eve in London, CKY in Colchester, the Slam Dunk Festival and more!

Ric Flair returns!

On paper it looks to be one of the best shows we have ever covered...but how does it all play out?

To offer more background on the shows, Thom has started watching all the TV leading up to them so expect more analysis about why the matches are happening! Also expect placement of random American TV ads!

And elsewhere, Thom talks Rev Pro Epic Encounters and Chris has a moan about Pizza Express.
